Why should it be illegal?

I thought it was illegal still in st louis to resell tickets for more than face value. Perhaps I'm mistaken.

But why should companies or greedy individuals be permitted to profit, by selling tickets to shows that they purchased solely to make a profit? Just because someone has a faster computer than me, or actually has internet access, or can afford to pay someone to access ticket sales, when tickets go on sale, does not mean that they should deprive otherwise legitimate concert goers from buying tickets at their face value, or essentially extort fans. Scalping is just plain icky.
