Audio: Rare Radiohead Muxtape Part II

Tue May 13, 2008 at 10:00:54 AM

(thanks, wired.com)

In this week's paper, I defended Pablo Honey, Radiohead's 1993 debut album. While some are skeptical, I stand by my adoration of the album. Is it because it sounds verrrrry 1990s -- and I still have a soft spot for that post-shoegaze, pre-Britpop sound? Is it because it's so very catchy? Is it because it's Radiohead, and I love everything they do? Read my piece; perhaps that will explain all.

Part Two of our rare Radiohead series features several songs which date from the band's Honey era, including "Inside My Head" -- which lost out to "Creep" as a single, but appeared as a b-side on that release -- and "Pop Is Dead," a UK-only single with a ridiculous video (view it after the jump) that the band left off its debut. ("Stupid Car" and "Yes I Am" are also early b-sides.)

Oh gosh. While I liked that album lots, Pop is Dead was not my fave. And that video was unfortunate.
