Agreed, James.
The Lower Level tickets I scored through a friend's dad's friend were a blessing and a curse. Oh, how I wished to dance among the stoned-out hippies on the lawn! Stiff 30s hipsters did not help me groove much.
All in all an incredible show nonetheless. Nearly freaked out and died when they launched into an unprecedented second-encore third song, the incredible Paranoid Android no less... this was a show for the history books to be sure. And Thom Yorke works a tambourine more sexily than any man alive.
Love them.
Thanks for the videos... I hate being short at concerts I missed ALL of this!!!
And to James above why go to a show if you're not going to sing along?? That's half the fun! The pity is that you could HEAR others sing... most shows I go to I cannot hear myself sing... this one I could hear everything.. including conversations about bull behind me during Nude. A-holes!!
Thanks for posting the vids. I don't mind people singing at a show, but talking on a cell phone is just plain rude. I would've said something.
Being 37 I've been to alot of shows in my day and this one very well may have taken top billing for me. The mix was dead on. They rocked hard, but the volume was not overpowering. The Mars Volta's sound guy could learn a thing or two from Radiohead's sound man. The visuals were absolutely intense. The cameras were very cool and the musicianship was absolutely perfect, except for one screw up I heard from Johnny.
The only bad thing about the show was trying to get out of the parking lot.
Paranoid Android is such a beautiful song when Thom sings it. Not so much with the horrible falsetto the idiot in the audience was displaying close to whoever was recording this. I get so tired of paying money to see people in St. Louis and have drunk and horrible singing audience members think it's their show!! And does anybody in this town know how to shut their traps at a concert?? I had a teenie something behind me yelling into a cell phone the whole show. Why do people go to a concert to talk on their cell phones?? And to the blabbing girls behind me, why the conversation about what dress dad bought you during a Radiohead show?? Once again in St. Louis, the band was awesome and some of the crowd wasn't!! Wish more shows like this were 21 and over only and get rid of some of those who are only there to talk and ruin the show for everyone else!! HAVE SOME RESPECT FOR OTHERS!!
