2 Cents Plain: Closed
Downtown music venue 2 Cents Plain is closed -- effective immediately.
According to co-owner Brandon Cullum, "we've been in a big legal fight with our landlord for awhile now -- and he won."
Cullum says that the national shows scheduled at the venue will be moved to other venues; some of the local shows may have to be cancelled, however.
As for future plans for the venue, Cullum says 2 Cents "might relocate. It just depends on if we can find the right space and the right location. We'd like to relocate; that would be nice."
The space, which has been open for about a year, had hosted shows from national and local acts, including Big D and the Kids Table, Wolf Eyes, Fastball, Melt Banana and Tub Ring. Cullum says he's bummed about having to close, but adds: "Go out and support all the other venues -- FUBAR, the Bluebird, Off Broadway."
