Whereupon Toto makes Michael McDonald an irrelevant joke in order to convince him to lend his songwriting talents to the band so that Steve Porcaro can score with Rosanna Arquette (his root chakra is his taint, which means she totally wants to fuck him).
CHRISTOPHER CROSS: Hey, they're playing my song on MTV!
MICHAEL MCDONALD: Oh no, this isn't MTV, this is a comedy show.
CHRIS: (laughs) Ah ha, they're making fun of you! That's supposed to be you! (laughs incessantly) It's you on the comedy show! (laughs some more) That's hilarious!
MIKE: (embarrassed, leaves)
CHRIS: Michael? Michael, I'm sorry! Come back! I didn't mean to laugh!
Though McDonald becomes an irrelevant joke, Porcaro ends up penning "Rosanna" with the band, and scoring with Arquette in a "different" and "weird" way.
NOTE: "Rosanna" is actually credited to David Paich, but that's why Yacht Rock is awesome.
