The Crestwood Mall -- which is now apparently known as Crestwood Court -- is making good on its commitment to local arts organizations by holding a local music festival this Saturday, August 1. The all-day bill features Exercise, Cold Bear Scout, We're Wolf and nine other bands. (According to the event's MySpace page, one of the genres represented is "historical hip-hop," which is my new favorite signifier.) The festivities start at noon and go until 11 p.m., in the CC's main commons. Even better, proceeds from merch sales and donations go to VH1's Save the Music Campaign.
I'm pretty sure the original mall-pop superstar -- or one of them, at least -- would approve.
