Fantastic, unbelievable show. My compatriot Tyler and I were close up, to the left of the stage - and the band was ON FIRE. They sounded like Godzilla, messed up on cocaine and Pixie Stix. Truly, a fantastic way to end to the weekend.
One thing that's likely to go unnoticed - there was an orange balloon with a marriage proposal written on it bouncing around for most of the night. The crowd near me tried to grab it and pass it along to the front of the stage, usually with little luck (shame on you, front-row-ers). At one point, Wayne Coyne had it in his hand - and bounced it back to the crowd before he could read it. I'd like to believe it would have made it up there, had the band been able to play one more song.
Anyway, great set (old, new, and favorites!) by a great band. I covered more of the festival on my twitter feeds (@jstoff and @minimusicreview) and enjoyed your coverage, too. Well done, RFT.
