On Friday, those cheeky whistling Swedes Peter Bjorn and John will be performing at Vintage Vinyl at 4 p.m., a preview to its show later that night at the Gargoyle. (El Perro del Mar is opening, to keep it in the Swedish family.) I also JUST received a pair of tickets to the band's Gargoyle show, to be given away by tomorrow morning. Leave a comment by 9 A.M. I heard about this group on a blog and liked their "Young Folks" song and video. Then I heard their song "Up Against the Wall" on Pandora and had to get their album. The whole album is great and I would really enjoy seeing them in concert!

I freely admit that I have an infatuation with Swedish bands. (But not in a creepy way. Promise.) Still kicking myself over missing the Mary Onettes at the Firebird. I was fortunate to see the Shout Out Louds in New York. My concert budget is pretty much non-existent these days and by the time I went to buy tickets for this show they were sold out. (I know, I know, cue the violin.) I would be eternally grateful to win tickets to Peter Bjorn & John. Does it help my case to tell you I have been plugging the show on twitter? Prior to this contest, I might add. Is that enough? Should I keep babbling?

I like my bands like I like my daily lunch choice: PB&J. Maybe it's because I love peanut butter and jelly or maybe it's because I'm low on cash. Either way, Peter Bjorn & John are the first band to play at the Gargoyle since I turned 18 last week. Finally, I can attend shows at the Gargoyle! I've only been waiting since I missed the Stars concert there in 8th grade. The pains of being introduced to indie music at such a young age. I would love to see these Swedes and hear the new material live.

I am completely in love with Peter Bjorn and John and missed there Philadelphia Show of their Birthday tour because they were sold out. Now, it just so happens I'm in Missouri visiting family before the holidays and THEY ARE SOLD OUT TO. I love Peter Bjorn and John for so many reasons. Their music is so organic and clever. My obssession started back when The Writer's Block was released with songs like Amsterdam, Let's Call It Off, Paris 2004, and yes, everybody's favorite... Young Folks. How could you not fall in love with this band? Living Things only cements their status as music icons. Not only do they create beautiful music, but they have amazing personalities and are just the most hilarious people to listen to. Try following them on twitter.
