Thompson Coburn Law Firm to Stay Downtown

Categories: News

Thompson Coburn will remain downtown in the US Bank Building. It had been a "closely watched" tenant in the eyes of city leaders.

Mayor Francis Slay wrote today on his blog that law firm was "one of several closely watched tenants" in the central business district -- the US Bank Building is sandwiched between Washington Avenue and Locust Street on 7th Street.

According to Slay, "Thompson Coburn generates more than $1.2 million in taxes for City services. The City and other taxing districts, including the Board of Education, will continue to receive 100 percent of the real property tax revenues now paid by the U.S. Bank building. Without a major tenant, those revenue streams would be in jeopardy."

The St. Louis Business Journal reported that the law firm "was in talks with the developers of Brown Shoe Co.'s planned headquarters Clayton."
