Extra! Extra! Post-Dispatch Sells Out!

Categories: Post-Dispatches

Barack Obama delivered a massive shot in the arm to the beleaguered newspaper industry yesterday.

The Illinois senator's win caused post-election day sellouts at newsstands around the country, and a spokeswoman for the Post-Dispatch tells me the local daily was no exception: All 300,000 copies were sold, and the paper spent yesterday scrambling to get 30,000 more printed.

The story has been the same throughout the country, where historic headlines are being exchanged for quarters.

Spokeswoman Tracy Rouch says those editions are now on sale at 69 QuikTrips in the metro area…while supplies last.

Alternatively, you could head over to eBay, where a number of national newspapers printed yesterday are already up for bidding.
