A pub crawl with a purpose.
Santarchy 2008 requires that its participants dress up like Santa Claus, be able to withstand lip-chapping, straight-line winds and pace themselves during alcohol consumption for a day-long binge around St. Louis.
Why the appeal? According to organizer Lohr Barkley, all the bad news about the economy and stressful holiday problems call for drinking and lots of it. The Santas also doled out tiny presents on Saturday at their stops in the Grove, University City, Downtown and Soulard.
