SLU's "Bar Row" To Lose One More Watering Hole

Categories: Bars, News

The Post-Dispatch reports today that Laclede Street Bar & Grill will soon close to make way for a new apartment building to house Saint Louis University students.

I've never been a huge fan of SLU bars (something about the stench of stale beer and urinal cakes repulses me), but you got to wonder where college kids are supposed to go these days for a quick libation between classes?

Laclede Street (the road not the tavern) used to be known as "Bar Row" for the many watering holes that lined SLU's southern border. Now -- by my count -- Humphrey's will soon be the only bar left standing.
