St. Louisan and His Service Parrot Make National News

Categories: Unreal
The New York Times Magazine recently published an intriguing read about service animals, but not your regular seeing-eye dogs.

Specifically, the story examines a controversial federal proposal that would prohibit disabled folks like St. parrot.jpgLouisan Jim Eggers -- who is bipolar -- from taking their service parrots, monkeys and miniature horses onto planes and trains, into stores and restaurants, to the movie theater, and so on.

No, that's not a typo. Eggers does have a service parrot. A Congo African Gray named Sadie, to be precise. And Unreal broke Eggers's story all the way back in October of 2006!

Click to read "Sadie Want An Unreal?" and see how the bird keeps Eggers from pulling out all his feathers, so to speak.
