What's Wrong With This Picture?

cbc.jpgHere's a photo of the old Christian Brothers College High School on Clayton Road as it looks today. The building is now owned by Washington University, but according to a story in today's St. Louis Post-Dispatch that could soon change.

The university is in talks to swap the old high school for the Wydown Middle School and two other properties owned by the Clayton School District. The public school district would then tear down the old CBC building to construct a new middle school.

The CBC building has graced Clayton Road since 1922. And while it's certainly in need of a few repairs, I'm convinced that nothing the Clayton School District could build would match its grace and charm.

Yes, something is wrong with this picture, and unfortunately a landmark building may soon pay the price.
