"The Big 550" KTRS-AM Ends Week With Lay-offs

Yesterday Channel 4 (KMOV-TV) fired two reporters, John Mills and Robert Townsend. Today two broadcasters at "The Big 550" KTRS-AM radio station were the latest to fall victim to belt-tightening happening all across the media industry.
KTRS (the St. Louis Cardinals broadcaster) this morning laid off Vic Porcelli, the co-host of "Morning Fix with Vic & Trish," which aired from 5:30 a.m. to 9 a.m., as well as news reporter Brian Kelly.
The station is going to have to reshuffle its line-up, but general manager Tim Dorsey won't give up the details just yet. Dorsey tells me Cindy Collins (who normally filled in when Porcelli was out) and Trish Gazall will do the early morning show next week; McGraw Milhaven will do his regular 9 - 11:45 a.m. show.
A source with knowledge of the shake-up says Milhaven may move to the morning drive slot, 6 to 10 a.m., starting on February 23, and that John Brown would do his "Mindset" show from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Frank O. Pinion will keep his 3 to 6 p.m. slot. The 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. hour has yet to be determined, according to the source.
