Free haircuts? You kidding me?
The St. Louis Cardinals are out with their promotional schedule for 2009. With the All-Star Game headed to St. Louis in July, this year will have no shortage of fan giveaways to commemorate the season.

Among other things, the team and its sponsors will be giving away baseball bats, bobble-head dolls, T-shirts, calendars, exercise mats and All-Star Game lapel pins. But what really struck me was a new (to me, at least) promotion this year.

On six special evenings this season fans can get their haircut at Busch Stadium courtesy of Great Clips.

Yes, that's right. Tame your mane at the ballpark this year. All proceeds from the haircuts benefit Cardinals Care -- though the press release leaves out what exactly those "proceeds" might be. Let's hope it's money and not hair clippings.
