Video: Dr. Sketchy's Art Club and Burlesque Dancers at Evil Prints

Categories: Arts
The St. Louis version of Dr. Sketchy's Art Club (inspired by the New York-based originator, Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School) meets once a month to figure-draw the girls of the Alley Cat Revue. During the club's most recent meeting, club members (the events are open to all) were treated to scantily clad models from this town's ubiquitous burlesque troupe, as well as that proudest of proletarian beers, Pabst Blue Ribbon. (Thankfully, it was nothing like Will Ferrell in that SNL skit.)

Freelance videographer Laurent Torno III put together a five-minute video of the recent conclave, which was held at Evil Prints. (You might recognize the name -- founder Tom Huck was profiled by RFT's Ian Froeb in early '07; Huck also designed the covers for last year's RFT Music Awards and Music Showcase issues.)

The video is safe for work, if your boss doesn't mind you ogling barely dressed women being sketched. Art, in other words. And if you look closely, you'll see this week's cover model -- GoGo McGregOr, who's one of the Alley Cats.

Without further ado, here's the video (somebody hit the lights):
