Not a puppy mill.
'Cause every dog deserves a home...

The Humane Society of Missouri is holding a preview Thursday of the nearly 200 pure-bred dogs rescued from a Newton County puppy mill last month.

The event runs from noon to 7 p.m. at the Humane Society's headquarters at 1201 Macklind in the city. No adoptions will take place tomorrow; rather people can view the available animals and select ones they may be interested in adopting.

Breeds available include: Pugs, Huskies, Boston Terriers, Chihuahuas, Dachshund and Cocker Spaniels among others.

Authorities also rescued an adult Bengal tiger in the same raid. Sadly, though, that animal is not up for adoption despite Missouri's lax exotic pet regulations. It's now spending its days at the Springfield Zoo.
