The wait is over. This week's Riverfront Times hits newsstands throughout the St. Louis area today, and here are some of the highlights you'll find both in print and online.

Unreal offers up some news of the weird about the dumping of human placentas down the drain in Urbana, Illinois. Seems the fetal organs are getting caught in the filters at the city's sewage plant.

In our cover story, writer Megan Feldman, of our sister paper in Dallas, tells a powerful story of Iraq War deserters fleeing to Canada, only to discover our neighbors to the north are not quite as tolerant of resisters as they were during Vietnam. We have also posted a slide show deserters, most of whom live in Toronto.

Julie Seabaugh pens a fanciful story of Greg Warren, Kirkwood's King of Comedy, who is rapidly building a national reputation on the comedy circuit.

Meanwhile, our always-insightful RFT theater critic Dennis Brown reviews a play about one man's journey to and away from God, while a team of music writers spotlight some of the top bands that St. Louis draws in the weeks leading up to and after South By Southwest.

Finally, make sure to read Ian Froeb's take on the Mattingly Brewing Company before checking our special St. Patrick's Day Guide.
