Bill to Ban DWT in Illinois Could Make Teens Very :(

Categories: News, Politics
A bill under consideration in the Illinois Legislature would outlaw the act of "driving while texting" a.k.a. DWT.

Those caught red-handed could face penalties ranging from $75 to $500 with the citiations working much like speeding tickets. Get more than three of them, and you could lose your license.

The bill already passed the Illinois House by a margin of 89-27 and is expected to receive a warm reception in the Senate. The legislation was inspired after a teenage driver downloading ring tones onto his phone mowed down a bicyclists near Urbana.

Question: Doesn't the cell phone lobby have a Charlton Heston it can roll out to tell the public the indisputable truth? Texting doesn't kill people. Cars do.
