Smoke-free St. Louis City is out with a dining guide of city bars and restaurants that prohibit smoking.

The online guide categorizes businesses by geographic location (Downtown, North City, Central West End, etc.) in addition to providing a laundry list of all the dozens of eateries and watering holes that now ban smoking. Excluded from the list are chain restaurants.

In somewhat related news, I stopped by one of my favorite mid-county haunts, Krueger's Bar & Grill, the other night. Employees at the estimable tavern on Forsyth are crossing their fingers for a Clayton smoking ban currently under discussion.

Krueger's lies just east of downtown Clayton but within the University City border. Bar employees believe a Clayton ban would provide a boom for the smoking-friendly Krueger's.
