Who Says Size Matters?

Craft brewers do.

And they are the subject of a sudsy documentary, Beer Wars, playing only one night -- TONIGHT -- in movie theaters across the country.

Made by a woman who's allergic to alcohol (egads!), the documentary homes in on micro-brewers Rhonda Kallman of New Century Brewing and Sam Calagione of Dogfish Head Brewery and Distillery, and their "battle" to make it in a multinational marketplace dominated by Miller, Coors and our very own brewer that everyone suddenly loves to hate, InBev Anheuser-Busch.

So, will we see any locals in the flick?

August Busch IV declined director Anat Baron's interview request. (Apparently, though, he does make a "cameo" appearance.) CEOs from Miller and Coors did get interviewed.

As for the Saint Louis Brewery, dba as the one-and-only Schlafly, Baron did sit down for a one-on-one with Tom Schlafly. But he's not so sure he made the cut.

Schlafly co-founder Dan Kopman, a self-described film buff, says he doesn't think Tom Schlafly fit the mold the directors and producers were looking for. "The perspective they're taking is, It's us [the little guys] against them [the multinationals]. But really, in all honesty, it's us against us."

The movie's showing at 7 p.m. the AMC Chesterfield and the AMC Esquire 7 tonight.
