Few authors serve their fans as devotedly as Laurell K. Hamilton: She produces not one but two new books a year, alternating between her two series, Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter and Merry Gentry, fairy princess. She's also responsible for a collection of Anita comic books and souvenirs and does lots of readings in St. Louis and elsewhere.

Really, Hamilton's media domination lacks for only one thing, but that's about to be remedied.

Anita Blake is going to get her own TV movie.

Anita fans (and you know who you are), be forewarned: the movie will be only on the Independent Film Channel. Production hasn't started yet, though, so you have a while to lobby your cable provider.

No word on which of the 16 books is going to be adapted or who is going to play Anita and all her many men, but there's already plenty of speculation and debate on the All Things Anita wiki.

Note to IFC: an Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter movie might make a good double-bill with the 2001 Canadian kung-fu comedy spectactuar Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter (tagline: "The first testament says 'an eye for an eye.' - The second testament says 'love thy neighbour.' - The third testament ... Kicks Ass!!!").
