According to a police description of the incident, the man brandished a semi-automatic hand gun from his waistband and pointed it at the woman. He pushed the victim into her car -- a silver 2005 Lexus -- and swung the gun grazing her in the face. The woman then exited the vehicle at which point the thief was able to grab her purse and enter the car and speed off eastbound on Delmar.

The victim's purse was discovered later in the afternoon at the corner of Dr. Martin Luther King and North Grand. The vehicle has not been recovered and the investigation is ongoing.

Police describe the suspect as a black male between the ages of 17 and 25, 130-140 pounds and approximately 5' 7". He was last seen wearing khaki pants and a multi-colored shirt.

Anyone with information related to the incident can leave an anonymous message with CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS.
