Ass Clown of the Week: Special Edition

• how dare you. death is not a funny matter. this gets to me, i new bryant personally. imagine if his family, who i am a cose friend with, were to read this. it is a hard enough struggle for them to go through. this is not fair to them at all. the funeral was hard for all of us. and how dare you. so you were trying to be humurous but death is certainly not a funny thing. i have been going through pain with this death.

• I've just read everything pertaining to this story and I'm both perplexed and amused. Death isn't funny, yet the way this guy died is. So someone wrote an entertaining headline about it. So what!?!? I laughed, discussed it with my girlfriend and moved on. Yes, it's terrible that Mr. Payne died; yes, it's terrible that he died doing something that he apparently loved, but all this controversy is ridiculous... Thanks, Chad, for having a sense of humor.

• So Mr. Garrison received death threats, did he? I can envision the headline after the murder now: Don't You Hate It When You Write an Offensive Headline and You Get Beaten to Death? I'm sure Mr. Garrison's friends and family would chuckle when they read that... Fellow commenters, I'd recommend that you just try to ignore this guy. Someone who writes a headline like that and then later only half-admits that it was wrong ("Was it in bad taste? Probably," he writes above) probably means one of two things: 1. Mr. Garrison has some sort of complex or psychological issue (or he is perhaps just an ignorant person). In this case, we should feel sorry for Mr. Garrison and hope that one day he can overcome his issues and realize he hurt people with this headline. 2. Mr. Garrison simply wanted to rile people up and/or get attention by being offensive. In this case, it would be best not to feed the monster with angry comments, as that will only make his ego stronger.

• Death isn't a joke you ASSHOLE!! still haven't learned huh...commenters can take a joke but when you're talking about somebody who's been beaten to death, you are insulting his family and friends. Chad, you will never get a REAL job in newspaper.

• I am furious that you would make light of this young man's death. He was my neighbor and at one time his life was full of promise. He was a cherished son, cousin, and brother. He had struggles in his life that others don't have to face and his senseless death is a tragedy. Demeaning his life this way is not funny.

• Tough call. I would have voted "All of the above" if it'd been offered.
