Patti Blagojevich, wife of infamous ex-Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, has officially began her stint on the NBC reality TV show "I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here" and she wants you to know she's doing it all for the kids.
The potty-mouthed former Illinois first lady took her husband's place on the show, which is a cringe-inducing combination of "Fear Factor," "Survivor" and "Celebrity Rehab," after a judge ruled that if he traveled to Costa Rica for filming he probably wasn't coming back to stand trial on corruption charges. Luckily, the producers settled for the next best thing and now Mrs. Blago is sweating it out in the jungle because her husband needs cash to pay his court costs "she loves her two young daughters."
Regardless of her motivations, it makes for entertaining television. There's washed up reality TV stars shouting "Put the whole thing in your mouth! Just swallow it!," there's once-respectable Lou "My dreams are pure rock and roll" Diamond Phillips digging in with gusto, and there's Patti describing "a musty yeasty flavor that was not good at all." (She was talking about the spider, not her husband's hairspray.)
But how did Blago himself feel about the performance? And what about that spill in the river?
Rod Blagojevich said he watched his wife's performance on Monday night and was "moved." Hear the whole radio interview:
