Farm Aid at Verizon Ampitheater in October

For the past several days it has not been a matter of if Farm Aid would play in St. Louis this year. The question has been where in town organizers planned to stage the concert.

That's because the organization has been dropping hints like crazy this month on its Twitter account pointing to St. Louis. Then, this week, Farm Aid began sending out press releases inviting the media to attend a major announcement at 11 a.m. this morning at the Soulard Farmers' Market.

Thanks to this morning's St. Louis Post-Dispatch I need not venture down to the market today. The paper reports in front-page fashion that the concert will be October 4 at Verizon Wireless Ampitheater.

Tickets for the all-day festival benefiting family farmers and featuring Neil Young, John Mellencamp, Willie Nelson and Dave Matthews go on sale July 25 through Live Nation and at the Verizon box office.
