Feds Round Up Owner of Cannibal Kennel and Four Other Dog Breeders for Running an Alleged Dog-Fighting Operation

Acting U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri Michael Reap announced today that his office has indicted five men on federal dog-fighting charges.

During an early-morning raid, law enforcement officials arrested Michael "Missouri Mike" Morgan, of Hannibal; Robert Hackman, of Foley; Teddy Kiriakidis, of Leasburg; Ronald Creach, of Leslie, and Jack Ruppel, of Eldon.

The feds also seized more than 150 pit bulls in the raid.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Hackman operated Shake Rattle and Roll Kennel. Ruppel operated Ozark Hillbillys Kennel. Creach operated Hard Goodbye Kennel.
And, are you ready for this one? "Missouri Mike" operated Cannibal Kennel.

The feds allege that the dogfighting went on between January 2008 and June 2009. A tip from the Humane Society of Missouri led the feds to sniff out the case.
