Meeting Tonight to Help Design City's Newest Green Space: Chouteau Park

Remember all that squabbling a few years ago when the city handed over a piece of Forest Park to Barnes-Jewish Hospital? Part of the deal required that the city replace the 9.4 acres of green space it would lose to the hospital with new park land.

Two years later, one of those spin-off parks is now on the drawing board. Choteau Park in the Forest Park Southeast neighborhood will occupy a vacant, three-acre lot bordered by Chouteau, Newstead, Tower Grove and Highway 40.

On hand at a neighborhood meeting tonight (7 p.m. at the Herbert Hoover Boys & Girls Club) will be urban design expert and architecture professor John Hoal, who'll lead a presentation on plans for the park.
