Teen Suspected of Shooting Berkeley Officer is Caught

The sixteen-year-old suspected of shooting a Berkeley police officer has been caught, less than 24-hours after the incident occurred, reports the Post-Dispatch.

Police report that Devante Thomas was captured around 10 a.m. in an area around Florissant. Thomas allegedly shot the officer, whose name is being withheld at this time, around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. A manhunt ensued thereafter. Thomas was considered "armed and dangerous" and was known to the officer. The mugshot is from a previous arrest.

The officer who was shot is in serious-but-stable condition.
