Jack Buck
A fire early this morning ripped through the suburban St. Louis home of Carole Buck, widow of the late Cardinals broadcaster Jack Buck.

According to media reports, the fire awoke Buck's widow, Carole Buck, around 1 a.m. this morning. She called 911 herself and escaped the blaze unharmed.

Several fire departments responded to the call and have apparently rendered the home at 11 Glenn Creek Lane in Ladue a total loss.

Carole Buck's home at 11 Glenn Creek Lane -- even though Google Maps address gives the "approximate" address as #14 Glenn Creek Lane.

Note: Thanks to readers who commented and emailed a correction to this story. Jack Buck never lived in the home, as I previously reported. According to real estate records, Carole purchased the house for $945,000 in 2003 -- the year after her husband passed away.
