Alan Pratzel, Chief Disciplinary Counsel for the Missouri Supreme Court, filed paperwork with the court which asks Brown to "show cause" for why he should not be disciplined. That's standard operating procedure whenever a lawyer pleads to or is found guilty of a crime.

Brown helped federal authorities prove that his good friend, former state senator Jeff Smith, lied to federal election officials and law enforcement during probes of an election rules violation.

Brown and Smith discussed their cover-up at numerous spots around town, including the steam room at the exclusive Racquet Club.

Brown and Smith will be sentenced on November 10.
