Today a former Anheuser-Busch executive filed a lawsuit claiming her former employer discriminated against her based upon her gender.
The suit filed by Francine Katz claims Anheuser-Busch (now AB-InBev) has a "locker room and frat party atmosphere"
that works against female employees.
Whoa! Stop the presses! You're saying that a company that came up with an ad like this one (suggesting an act they refer to as "sodomy" down in Texas) is overtly sexist?
Nah! No way. And the ad below is somehow demeaning to women?
Heck, no! Who doesn't like to go home and cover her (or his!) naked body with Budweiser bottle caps!? That's not "frat house" culture and neither are the following Budweiser ads going back decades. In fact, we defy you to find a "frat house" or "locker room" in any of the following images. Go on! Just try!
I hope she wins! Top executives, who have similar backgrounds and time within a corporation should be compensated on a level playing field - period. Plus, AB's advertising has nothing to do with how they should treat their employees. The women who are modeling knew the assignment they were getting into. Executive pay is executive pay. Period.
This might have something to do with the RFT cherry picking the photo of the hottest woman from each of their photo galleries to use as the cover shot.
Looks like AB management was trying a bit to hard to emulate their target market. It will be interesting to see how it turns out!
