Bada-Bing! St. Louis Graphic Design Firm Sues Microsoft Over Trademark

Categories: News, Tech
St. Louis-based design shop, Bing!, last week filed suit against Microsoft over the software giant's use of the name Bing for its new search engine.

The suit filed in St. Louis Circuit Court alleges "trademark infringement, unfair competition, and tortious interference with business expectancy."

Bing! (logo above) has operated in St. Louis since 2000 and is run by its two principals John Telford and Brian Williamson. The company does work for clients such as HBO, DirectTV, Boeing and a heck'uva lot of graphic illustrations for the Post-Dispatch.

Microsoft, meanwhile, calls the lawsuit "without merit" and denies that consumers would be confused by the existence of the two similarly named products.
