Few other details have emerged about the incident, though Freese was not involved in an accident when detained by police.
The Post-Dispatch notes this morning that Freese's arrest is the fourth time since 2007 that a member of the Cardinals has been involved in an alcohol-related incident involving a vehicle.
Those others include:
- Manager Tony La Russa's arrested for falling asleep at an intersection in March 2007;
- Pitcher Josh Hancock's fatal crash on Highway 40 in April 2007;
- Outfielder Scott Spiezio's outlandish incident in December 2008 when he crashed his Bimmer after many drinks, fled the scene and hid from police in a closet.
