After Reading This Post, You'll Be Glad the Rams Aren't In the Playoffs

Categories: Music, Sports

This weekend's NFC Championship game features the Minnesota Vikings facing off against the New Orleans Saints. The former's performance was so inspiring in recent weeks, it inspired Mpls legend Prince, who penned a song in their honor called "Purple and Gold." The Fox affiliate in Minneapolis received a copy of the song and aired it post haste.

Now, the first sign of trouble might be the opening lyrics:

the veil of the sky draws open
the roar of the chariots touch down
we r the ones who have now come again
and walk upon water like solid ground
as we approach the throne we won't bow down
this time we won't b denied

The next sign? Well, just listen to this clip. I'm not sure what's going on here, but it's about as funky as a slice of Wonder Bread.

The Saints aren't going to take this release lightly. There's an entire playlist dedicated to Saints songs here, the best of which is below. A fan named Lee Williams penned "Who's Gonna Win Dat Superbowl?" by deciding to go for a Vanilla Ice-esque vibe on this hi-NRG number.

Take some consolation in the fact that it's likely going to take the Rams awhile to reach the point of being worthy of tribute songs like these.
