Clooney's program will run January 22 on MTV and VH-1 and will be produced by a crew who put together a successful network-TV telethon after 9/11, THR reports.
The paper says Sting has already signed up to help.
Btw, Up in the Air is up for six Critic's Choice Awards, including best picture, best actor and best director, to be announced tonight.
