This is gonna be a busy weekend. Mardi Gras and Valentine's Day in the same weekend means that you are probably going to waste a lot of money on over-priced flowers, parking, booze and bail money. But don't fret, Daily RFT has a list of 10 things you can do this weekend on the cheap.

Maplewood Art Walk (Friday)
The shops and art galleries of Maplewood offer open houses, live music, special performances and food and drink specials Feb. 12, from 6 to 9 p.m. Most events are free, but some require tickets. Click here for more info.

2010: A Mystic Knights Masquerade Odyssey (Friday)
St. Louis' Champion Krewe, the right and just Mystic Knights of the Purple Haze, invite one and all to their 2010 Mardi Gras Masquerade Ball. Doors open at 8 p.m. and tickets for $10.This year's band is the Heaters, augmented by a brass section for the occasion, with DJ The Soul Selector, Papa Ray, working a little magic on the turntable as the mood takes him. St. Louis Boat & Sportshow (Friday - Sunday)
Get away from the purple hearts and pink Hallmark cards before Valentine's Day. The St. Louis Boat & Sportshow has all things manly: Boats, fishing, bow-hunting and even a wing-eating contest. This last until Sunday at the Edward Jones Dome. Tickets are $9 for adults. Click here for more info.

La danse -- Le ballet de l'Opéra de Paris (Friday-Sunday)
In La danse -- Le ballet de l'Opéra de Paris, a documentary directed by Frederick Wiseman, we see seven ballets brought to the stage by the Paris Opera Ballet. In French with English subtitles, this film showcases the classical dance form in all of its loveliness and documents the collaboration necessary in presenting a stellar concert to the public. La danse is screened as part of the Webster Film Series at 7:30 p.m. Friday through Sunday (February 12 through 14) at the Moore Auditorium (470 East Lockwood Avenue, Webster Groves).
