The Doctor gave me the addictive drugs, and Sacred Journey gave me the cure. This is an outrage against liberty. I feel so bad for people depending on the medicines they get from the store. Now they're screwed. That's the whole point. Big Pharma turns the screws on the competition. The DEA and Cops are corporate mercenaries. There is no right that cannot be circumvented these days. Thank god for the Republican War on Drugs, and especially for the Republican War on Terror. I'm terrified of both non-libertarian types above, but the social conservatives can be downright horrifying to live around. These people are in favor of "community policing"--something which seems relatively benign until you encounter a smalltown pig who must've been abused as a child. If you think pigs are pricks in other states, stay away from KS. This mentality within baby-boomers, elderly, and even many Gen-X and -Y's is that "drugs are bad, mmm-kay?" • Folks, to address the law making issues, we all need to become more politically aware and active, especially on the LOCAL level! One responder mentioned not voting in local elections, but in order to change things like this, we need to sponsor candidates, work for their campaign, and get out the vote! This is how we will establish candidates in office who can work against these irrational, reactionary, fear based bans, and eventually move towards decriminalizing, if not totally legalizing some of the more desirable and safe controlled substances. I know that for some of this to change we will need some national actions, but we won't have people on the national political level to do this for us until we have voted in (and voted up) established local representatives! Please, especially the younger folks out there, make your voices count!

• I'm a Lawrence resident and actually visited that store regularly for very legitimate herbal remedies for things I have to deal with (not going into TMI here). The place was very legit. I remember seeing the owner constantly checking his stock for legality regularly. The reason being is that so many places are outlawing the stupidist things that he always had to be on his toes. He always struggled to keep his stock legal, which is hard in the ban-happy U.S. There is no malicious intent here, just a man struggling hard to run an honest buisness. • Most people on this page are right. Those DEA bastards think they can do anything they want. I had a brain tumor in Dec 98 and they told me i can smoke pot to deal with cronic head pain insted of taking steriods or other meds, so i started about a year later after i learned to walk and use my right side. I was 16. now i'm 25 and I've got 2 misdomeanors for pot and 2 felonys for the second time. They told me if it happened again I was going to prison for 3-5 years. they forced me to move to a new town to spend my probation(I'm still their,don't have money to move thou I'm off probation). Now I have to find any way I can to get by without pot, but medicine of all kinds have side effects and i don't like side effects. I thought maybe K2 can help. It doesn't really help with my Cronic head pain but when I smoke K2, it does make it so i don't worry about pain because it is seem to be not as strong. But now the D.umb E.uphoric A.sses say its not legal, I'm thinking about finding their leader then getting back on all my meds that the government said are legal for me(with make me nauses all the time) just to walk up and puck on him and say this is what the government will allow me to be on. And this is just making it harder for a handicaped person(like me) to be in sociaty.

• K2 is synthetic. The active ingredients are purported to be jwh-018 and jwh-073 which are research chemicals discovered in the 90s by an undergraduate student at Clemson University intended to study the effects of cannabinoid agonists on CB1 and CB2 receptors in the brain. Most of the arguments made against it in the KS state legislature are either unfounded or just plain reactionary. It probably should be regulated somehow to stop children and parolees from buying it, but not added to the list of Schedule I controlled substances. Even the American Medical Association has reversed its long-held stance that real cannabis belongs on the federal schedule I because it is not a narcotic. And to anyone who says it's dangerous because it's long-term effects have not been established, two things: 1. There is evidence to suggest that cannabis has been used by humans for about 5000 years. There have been decades of studies on that showing it is safer than alcohol, and yet it is still illegal (despite recent polls showing almost half of Americans support decriminalizing it for everyone, and 80% for medical use). Additionally, there has never been a documented case of anyone ever overdosing on cannabis. Alcohol and prescription medications on the other hand... So, to argue that K2 should be banned for this reason without concurrently proposing or supporting bills to ban alcohol or decriminalize cannabis is nothing short of hypocritical. 2. For anyone who believes having FDA approval makes something safe--Splenda/sucralose is not safe. There are plenty of anecdotal accounts online of people experiencing flu-like symptoms (headaches, chills, hot-flashes, upset stomach) and heart-palpitations (some severe enough to cause hospitalization) from ingesting that. The FDA approved that on about 120 studies (mostly animal--only about 14 on humans) which were all conducted by the manufacturer. Chemically, it is chlorinated sucrose. The manufactuer compares that to table salt, but it's not true. Structurally, it is more similar to pesticides like DDT. The manufacturer claims that it does not get absorbed in the body, but their own studies show that around 14% of it does. Also, the manufacturing process may result in impurities (like heavy metals) that can build up in the system, so--even though 14% may seem like a small amount once--what does that look like over time? And yet I don't see anyone in the KS legislature clamoring to ban that. And it's even available for TODDLERS to ingest!!! Our laws should be based on principle and facts, not just reactionary fear. Rob Olson (R-Olathe) thinks he's scoring easy political points with this one. Not in my book. I usually don't vote in local elections but will likely vote against him this fall for this one issue alone, regardless of who his opponent is or any other views they may hold. With the state facing a budget shortfall, people losing their houses, and unemployment hovering around 10% nationally and locally, this is one of the very first things the KS state legislature chose to focus on at the start of their 2010 session? Yet another reason to vote against Rob Olson in the fall.

• I'd like to add that it makes no sense, economic or moral, to jail or imprison marijuana users or sellers. Our jails and prisons should be reserved for those who harm others against their will - not marijuana users, sellers or growers. We don't have criminals growing tobacco in clandestine locations. We don't have tobacco producers or sellers attempting to settle their disputes with each other with gun battles in the streets. • ok, so i've read all these reviews of smoking k2, and i have to say that none of you, NONE of you have any idea what you're talking about. K2 needs to be smoked from a pipe or glass bowl surface, or apple, or "water-pipe" structure. the reason being is the fact that the blend that the synthetic cannabanoid is on does not burn evenly, the main reason alot of people think it's not as strong is because it doesn't contain trichomes such at thc does, therefore, when you smoke it, be sure to hold it in as long as you can, i'm talking 20 seconds minimum here, you will be "blazed" after one hit, it's up to 5x stronger than kush, nug, ...a.k.a. good stuff and cost about half the price, so if you want to smoke k2, save money on paying for the papers, and go to quicktrip and buy a 69 cent apple, it's half the price and it's disposable, or possibly edible.
