Humane Society: Missouri Ranks 43 For Laws to Protect Animals

Missouri tied with several other states as No. 43 in the ranking, designating the Show-Me State as one of the worst places for animals in the United States.
Missouri scored low marks for its relatively lax laws when it comes to dog and cock fighting (unlike some other states, Missouri doesn't make attending those fights a felony) as well as its hunting and farming regulations. Missouri allows leg hold traps and snares for fur hunters and does not prohibit the force-feeding of farm animals and inhumane slaughter of those creatures.
