Police Department Open to Taking Another Look at Officers' Conduct in World Series Ticket Scandal

The chief spokeswoman for the city police department says the agency could take another look at its officers' behavior during the 2006 World Series ticket scalping scandal.

Erica Van Ross tells Daily RFT that the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department's Internal Affairs division could re-investigate police officers' misappropriation of seized Series tickets if new and substantial information was provided to the department.

"For example," writes Van Ross in an e-mail, "if someone called us and said 'I think that guy lives next door to [John Doe], are IAD investigators going to be out in [his] neighborhood knocking on doors looking for the guy? No. We don't have the luxury of having that many people work for us. But if that guy called us and said 'Hey, the guy in the photo is me,' investigators would certainly talk to him to determine what information he may have."

New and substantial findings could result in further punishment of officers, but would not necessarily result in criminal charges being filed.
