Bill To Outlaw Fake Marijuana, K2, in Missouri Moves Forward
The Missouri House yesterday perfected a bill that would outlaw the sale or possession statewide of fake pot products such as K2. Already two counties in Missouri -- Pettis and St. Charles -- have passed laws banning the drug that is laced with synthetic chemicals that mimic the effects of marijuana.
The bill (HB 1472) still needs a second vote before moving on to the Senate, where legislators are considering their own ban of the drug.
It could be that the lawmakers are all for naught as a new fake marijuana product -- that doesn't contain THC or the chemicals outlawed in HB 1472 -- is already for sale in Kansas where the legislators banned the sale of K2 last week.
