Reed allegedly approached the women on the street and took them behind abandoned houses to rape them.
The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office on Saturday issued warrants on Carnell Reed, 35, for two counts of forcible rape. Reed, of the 2100 block of Orbitt Drive in north county, is currently being held on $200,000 cash only bond.

Reed is accused of raping a 35-year-old victim on Tuesday, January 19. The woman told police that the suspect approached her on foot around 5:30 AM near the area of Chambers and Baron. He announced he had a gun, walked her behind an abandoned house and raped her.

On Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at around 12:05 AM, the second victim, a 21-year-old female stated a suspect approached her on foot near the area of Chambers and Monarch. He, too, announced he had a gun, walked her behind an abandoned house and raped her.

In both cases the suspect fled on foot.

Commenting on Reed's arrest today, St. Louis County Police Chief Timothy Fitch stated:
"I commend the actions of the officers in the North County Precinct and detectives from the Bureau of Crimes Against Persons and Crime Scene Unit who were able to identify and apprehend a suspect. Their dedication and investigation skills led to the removal of a predator from our streets."
