Pinnacle Surrenders President, Allowing Room for North County Casino

Pinnacle Entertainment has decided to surrender its license for the President Casino to the Missouri Gaming Commission.

Earlier this year the gaming commission voted to strip the under-performing casino of its license, though recently an appeals court had questioned the commission's action.

The Post-Dispatch reports this morning that Pinnacle agreed to give up its license so as not to damage its reputation with gaming officials in other states and concentrate on its Lumiere and River City casinos in St. Louis.

Pinnacle's decision allows for a new 13th casino to locate in Missouri. An early front-runner in that contest is a controversial casino planned for north St. Louis County
