My! What a big river you have, Missouri.
If you've been checking local news sites (here, here, here) you'd think that the a virtual tsunami is headed down river.

The Associated Press reports today that "the Missouri River is bulging in the middle of the state, and some tributaries of the bigger rivers are also flooding." Already people upstream are bracing for the deluge.

Truth is, if the flooding does occur, it will be mild, at least according to the latest from National Weather Service. The agency predicts that water may reach the parking garage of Laclede's Landing in downtown St. Louis when the river crests here at 31.1 feet Thursday -- or about a foot above flood level.

No major damage is expected to occur due to the water, but then that's not a very sexy news story.
