Teen Murder Suspect Alyssa Bustamante Won't Wear Prison Garb to Trial

I hate to break it to all of you who act like this girl should be given a free pass because of her possible drug issues and mental health but this girl told the judge she knew what she was doing when she lured Elizabeth out there and murdered her in cold blood. If that doesn't scream sociopath to you, I don't know what will.

• Even though I'm a little late, why would you release somebody to see if they can "keep their record clean" ? That is just plain stupid because who knows whether or not this girl will yet again hurt another innocent soul. Obviously, she is mentally ill. • All of us who knew Alyssa, knew she was a little "off" before this happened. But she isn't the crazy thrill killer she's been made out to be.

But some people... whether you think they should or shouldn't be are severely disturbed and/or depressed, even people who have had completely normal and good lives can be. It's called a mental DISEASE. People don't chose to have them and I'm sorry, but anyone who can kill someone because of it is not "crying for attention". Putting her in jail will do nothing, she will hurt others or herself. She should be put into a mental institution for as long as it takes to make her better where she cannot harm others. • Thanks for the kind comments morgan and scott they are appreciated. I know Alyssa and she is a cheerful, upbeat and generous person, this isn't something she would do. I think the drugs she was on for depression had something to do with it, gave her split personality/personality disorder and lead to this tragedy.

• Personally, I think her ''severe depression'' was just a desperate attempt for attention and sympathy. And what if she didn't confess anyway? She could of killed another person by now. • She was severly depressed. That's a terrible way to judge her. When you're that depressed you can't think clearly. Obviously, she's mentally sick. She should NOT go to prison, she should go to rehab, and once she's better go to juvie until they're sure she's 100% better, and put her on house arrest until she's 18. If her record is still clear they should let her go, but if she does something else put her in jail for life. That's what I think should happen. She needs help, putting her in jail will just make things worse. She'd probably A) attempt/succeed in killing herself B) attempt/succeed in hurting others.

• Definitely a sociopath. These monsters live among us and we don't normally find out until they've done something horrific, like in this case. What a nice judge though, to approve her request to wear what she wants to court... sure, I can see where she should have rights... NOT.
