An Environmentally Friendly Jet Fighter? Call It the F/A 18 Super "Green" Hornet

The experiment is part of the Navy's goal to incorporate more green technology into the armed forces. The unmodified F/A 18 Super Hornet will take off from a naval air station in Maryland this morning powered by a 50/50 combination of traditional jet fuel and camelina, a flowering plant known for its oil properties.
Boeing has successfully flown five of its commercial aircraft on a similar biofuel blend.
