Ed Martin: Congressional Candidate (and Parrothead) Re-Writes Jimmy Buffet

Those winds out there today? They're the tropical breezes blown in special for Jimmy Buffet's concert tonight at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater.

And one of Buffet's fans who plans to attend the show is Republican congressional candidate Ed Martin, who is hosting a concert pre-party (and fundraiser) at El Paisano in south St. Louis this afternoon. Writes Martin on his Facebook invite for the event:

Because it's 5 o'clock somewhere Ed Martin will be hosting a margarita fundraiser before the concert on April 29th. Please join Ed and lets start tasting away in Margaritaville!

Wait a second!? "Tasting away" in Margaritaville?

Those aren't the lyrics! Okay, okay. We understand, Ed.

As a man looking to restore good, ol'-fashioned conservative morals to Washington, you can't go around parroting (even if you're a "Parrothead") the boozy themes of a calypso crooner.

Still, "tasting away" in Margaritaville!?

What's next? A song titled, "Why Don't We Get Chaste and Snooze?" J.B. would not approve.
