There are several mandates that take away our freedom. One is if you are young or have a small business and do not want insurance you will have to pay $750 annualy for that privilege. Two if your young and healthy and want to pay for insurance to reflect that, you no longer have that option. You will pay for those who drink, smoke and eat unhealthy. Because insurance co. can no longer underwrite on basis of health. You will now be forced to buy a policy that must cover ambulatory patient services, emergency services, hospitalization, maternity and newborn care, mental health and substance use disorder services, including behavioral health treatment; prescription drugs; rehabilitative and habilitative services and devices; laboratory services; preventive and wellness services; chronic disease management; and pediatric services, including oral and vision care, even if you don't want or need that coverage. Three The Secretary of health will now have the power to regulate the whole industry and the power over your healthcare and your Doctor through claims data and reports. The Gov. will now have all your health records. They will have the power to regulate individuals freedom to recieve care they want and Doctors freedom to give care they see fit.. Four The Gov. will now charge billions in fees (Taxes) to pharmaceutical industry on a percentage of what they sell. And excise taxes of 2.9% on medical device manufaturers. Naturally they will will defer that cost to consumers. Five If you make over 200k ind or 250K couple you will pay a 3.9% extra payroll tax. Six Cosmetic surgery will cost you 5% more. Seven The Gov. will tax insurance companies as well, who will pass those added cost onto consumers. All that "reform" and nothing to cut high cost of healthcare. Insurance premiums are high because healthcare cost are high. What is being done to lower actual cost? NOTHING IN THIS BILL.
