David Thornton: St. Louis Homicide No. 45; Gunmen Shoot Him in Back Inside His Home

David Thornton was inside the split-family home he rented with his girlfriend Monday night when three gunmen burst through the door, shooting him in the back.
Police say that the assailants were seeing running from the house and down the alley adjoining the house. Thornton, 26, was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
An investigation is ongoing.
